Laser Repair Group Manager
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leads the manufacturing effort for excimer laser products.
- Co-develops excimer laser products with R & D engineering
- Directs the disassembly & reassembly of excimer lasers and subsystems.
- Writes work instructions and documentation to support standardized work in the laser manufacturing and refurbishment area.
- Trains and supervises laser manufacturing and refurbishment technicians.
- Organizes work flow to minimize waste and contain total costs of assembly operations.
- Maintains accurate training records and uses them to assign work to trained technicians.
- Monitors capacity of group against open jobs and requests more help or utilizes overtime to compensate for short term shortages of capacity.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- B.S. degree in Engineering or Physics or equivalent work experience
- Understanding of manufacturing methods used in excimer laser assembly
Exp in manufacturing to ISO 9000 standards - Training in Lean manuf. techniques
- Highly organized - Exp in training & leading techs

Business Systems Analyst
The successful candidate will provide IT expertise to support the realization and design of the ERP Systems CRM, Financial, and Manufacturing processes. The key focus is on leveraging Visual ERP Financial, CRM & Manufacturing and Labor Reporting modules utilizing ERP modules and SQL Relational Database skills to enhance data analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide functional and technical expertise within the business, in the analysis, design, development and implementation of business processes and applications.
- Document ERP/CRM/Time-Labor entry data and manufacturing system functions and processes for the business. • Collect and analyze business requirements for multifunctional projects to provide the best solution for business needs.
- Work independently while handling multiple assignments and assume responsibility for major project deliverables with minimal to no supervision.
- Identify operational inefficiencies, conflicting business practices and integration issues, suggesting alternative solutions.
- Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT colleagues and department managers to ensure successful implementation and support of projects.
- Support full-cycle ERP solution: analysis, requirements, specifications, quality assurance, problem resolution, end user testing, and develop ERP Data Reports using Crystal Reports & Synoptix as requested by department managers.
- Ensure through the development and execution of testing plans that production issues are minimal after implementation of new enhancements, changes or upgrades.
- Provide day to day support and troubleshooting of user and application problems, plus assist with ERP systems upgrades and patches.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Bachelors Degree with 5+ years of experience working with SMB ERP projects
- 5 years of experience performing data analysis and development with Microsoft SQL Server, creating stored procedures, T-SQL scripts, DTS stored procedures, and developing complex queries for data extraction, reporting, and analysis, etc.
- Write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or appearance of ERP data and reports.
- Candidate should understand T-SQL language and relational databases and possess ability to create complex SQL queries to retrieve data from large complex databases. The ability to develop custom interfaces or otherwise enhance data access and reporting from the SQL database a plus.
- Past experience and working knowledge of Visual Manufacturing ERP or similar ERP/MRP/Financial program
- Strong computer skills including Advanced Excel, Access, Word, Crystal Reports, plus MS SQL database management. Additional Computer language skills including C#, .Net, ASP, and Java a plus.
- ERP Industrial / Manufacturing Experience are a Plus.
- Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality

Software Engineer
This position requires skills and experience in the design and documentation of systems software for motor, electrical and pneumatic control systems for robotic mechanisms. The mechanisms are typically subsystems of JPSA Laser Micromachining handling equipment, but may include associated automation projects. Work skills and discipline are required to complete specific engineering tasks and will work closely with other Engineering personnel. The candidate must be accountable to ensure that JPSA Laser developed equipment is responsive to the needs of customers, cost effective and timely.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Upgrade/maintain software for existing Laser Micromachining Systems.
- Contribute to the development of our next generation software.
- Develop a General User Interface for practical factory automation.
- Work to documentation/CAD standards in coordination with other Engineering personnel.
- Interface with Manufacturing to ensure that equipment conforms to engineering design and customer specification.
- Develop knowledge of customer application requirements and propose software systems designs to satisfy those requirements.
- Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine design requirements for manufacturability as defined by existing processes and methods.
- Plan develop, and execute experimental test programs.
- Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Compile and analyze test and research data to establish performance and process standards for newly designed or modified software products and systems.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- BSCS, BSEE, BSME or equivalent
- Basic programming / logic skills (VB 6.0, C, C++, C#, .NET)
- ActiveX controls and COM interfaces experience
- Factory automation/data connectivity experience
- CAD/CAM post-processing or equivalent

Systems Test Engineer
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Installs and tests JPSA products to prepare for customer acceptance.
- Tests and verifies critical subassemblies before returning to stock or shipment to customers for spare parts.
- Writes and maintains test and inspection procedures
- Coordinates company resources to meet promised ship dates for sales orders.
- Provides verbal and written feedback to production and refurbishment groups pertaining to quality discrepancies with product delivered to the systems test group.
- Assigns group resources to projects for customer orders and R&D efforts
- Uses the ECO process and corrective action process to drive product and process improvement
- Initiates the warranty history records for new JPSA products upon successful completion of test processes
- Actively participates in production meetings to assist in the timely completion of systems
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
- Five years of experience testing and operating computer controlled capital equipment utilizing motion control components.
- Laser and optical systems operation experience preferred
- Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in technical service environment
- Strong knowledge of MS Office modules
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Executive Assistant
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate and assist with implementing projects, processes and procedures.
- Edit and compile print materials
- Organize data and prepare reports as needed
- Assist with basic bookkeeping and financial reporting
- Schedule meetings, update calendar and provide follow up assistance
- Gather and organize information to ensure that accurate and detailed records are maintained

Production Planner
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creates and maintains a master schedule to reduce customer lead-times to acceptable levels as established by the marketplace.
- Acts as a liaison with other areas of company supply chain, including procurement and operations.
- Prepares defined work packages, including detailed instructions, drawings, bills of material, references, and inspection requirements to initiate and control production work.
- Coordinates kitting sequence with material handling team members.
- Plans and schedules workflow for each work center to achieve delivery obligations.
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Prepares and contributes detailed production reports as part of the monthly operations reporting process.
- Performs monthly work order auditing and physical inventory.
- Analyzes and interprets construction of bills of material to verify proper operations and resources are specified.
- Ensures all parties and fully cognizant of production status, and that work planning and execution objectives are integrated and communicated.
- Coordinates and expedites the placement of purchase orders and/or delivery of material.
- Schedules, expedites and coordinates the delivery and movement of critical material including material transfers.
- Coordinates the resolution of WIP discrepancy reports.
- Initiates Engineering Change Requests to correct bill of materials deficiencies.
- Implements engineering change orders as related to work in process materials.
- Four-year degree within business administration, operations management or a related field.
- Must be organized, as creating processes, best practices and time lines are the primary functions of this role.

Excimer Laser Engineer
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage excimer laser projects and provide product development and performance requirement solutions
- Coordinate the design, assembly, testing and production of standard and R&D excimer laser systems and components
- Plan and execute experimental test programs with carefully documented data and reports
- Design and test modules and conduct detailed analysis of lasers and laser components.
- Interface with Manufacturing to ensure that the laser systems conform to engineering designs and customer specifications
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Physics or Engineering with a minimum of 5 years UV laser experience; M.S. or PhD degree is preferred
- "Hands on" experimentalist with strong electronics and PC background
- Experience with the design and implementation of high voltage discharge circuits, gas lasers, vacuum and systems
- Knowledge of automation systems for lasers
- Excimer laser experience is required; additional background in short pulse or solid state lasers is a plus in electrical engineering with a minimum of 5 years experience working with motion control assemblies.
Opto Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create innovative opto mechanical designs for optimizing laser performance
- Conduct detailed analysis of opto mechanical components and subsystems
- Design & test optical beam delivery systems for commercial and R&D projects
- Provide accurate documentation of technical information and engineering drawings
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalen plus 5 years of engineering design and product development experience
- Knowledge of motion controls and laser machining systems
- Proven expertise with 3D design tools such as SolidWorks
- Proficiency with Zemax software is required
Laser Repair Technician
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Disassembly and reassembly of critical laser modules and subassemblies without direct supervision
- Integration of refurbished modules into working systems
- Follows test procedures and generates test/acceptance data for review by team leaders and quality assurance
- Disposes of obsolete documentation when job is complete.
- Assists in the generation of new product or subassembly documentation and work instructions
- Assists in the completion of ERP work order paperwork for proper processing and costing of jobs
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- High school graduate.
- Certification to company standards based on job training and testing
- Neat, accurate, and consistent work.
- Craftsman skill level with assembly hand tools and light power tools.
- Assumes responsibility for own work.
- Works well independently.

Laser Field Service Engineer
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Installing laser systems and accessory components for customers worldwide.
- Troubleshooting, refurbishing and optimizing laser system performance.
- Mechanical and optical assembly of lasers and subsystem components.
- Routine maintenance of in-house and customer laser systems.
- Providing system training for laser operators.
- Responsible for the completion and submission of field service reports and weekly expense reports.
- Effectively communicating with customers.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of engineering and/or science; exceptional combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Previous field service experience is desired. Solid mechanical understanding; ability to analyze, evaluate, and assess complex and intricate mechanical components.
- Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply analog and digital electronics. This involves a basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques and approaches.
- Requires strong computer skills. Ability to prepare reports and other appropriate documentation.
- Ability to work well with clients and co-workers.
- Results-oriented, team player with a can-do attitude.
- “Hands on” Engineer with 2 – 5 years’ related experience – background in UV excimer and solid state lasers is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed at client locations, requiring travel to the client’s business by car or airplane, as appropriate.
- Must maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Must be available to travel extensively on short notice including work during non-standard business hours, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift, pull or push objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Laser Applications Engineer
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Production activities in our state of the art laser job shop and applications laboratories, ensuring that a quality product is delivered to our customers as well as monitoring system performance.
- Problem solving with regard to system performance - either in system design, tooling design or processing technique.
- Reviewing the weekly production schedule with the department manager, deciding on optimum laser system and beam delivery
- Setting up and running customer jobs on laser equipment to production schedule and all associated duties from “in process inspection” of production parts using a number of analytical methods to signing off the work order and breaking down the machine.
- Setting up new systems and performing final acceptance with the end customer. He/she will provide customer support and training on the best use of JPSA’s equipment.
- Sample work – Engineers are encouraged to read professional publications and develop application work based on manufacturing trends and problems. He/she will be involved with writing of reports, publishing and presenting papers as applicable.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Minimum of a Bachelors degree in engineering or physics, along with 5 years directly related work experience. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of laser systems and technology, beam delivery components and concepts, geometric optics, and laser-material interactions are important to perform these tasks effectively.
- Excimer – DPSS experience preferred
- R & D laser processing – handling – promoting
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with customers, sales and engineering staff
- Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, high tech laser company
- Proven technical expertise and the ability to work as a team player
